Incontinence - Macroplastique

E-mail Print PDF

Macroplastique is an injectable soft-tissue bulking agent used to treat stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in women primarily due to intrinsic sphincter deficiency (ISD). Macroplastique has been used in Europe since 1991 and has proven to be an effective and safe treatment alternative for those suffering from SUI.

The Macroplastique treatment requires only about a 45 minute to an hour office visit, after which you can safely resume virtually all activities the same or next day. Your recovery is rapid and comfortable, with minimal limitations. The result is immediate with resolution of the incontinence in about 80-85% of women.

Dr. Loisides has performed hundreds of peri-urethral bulking procedures in both the office and outpatient surgical center setting.
